Job description

Shortlist continues to actively recruit Talent Analysts and Consultants.

Welcome to Shortlist! We’re building a better way to hire, combining the best of tech, data, and human touch to provide executive search and talent technology services across Africa, India, and 20+ countries globally. We have two primary business lines: We offer executive search services to help clients find and hire senior managers and C-suite executives, and an innovative tech-based "Talent Drive" offer to power large-scale recruitment campaigns (campus hiring, internship programs, etc.) for volume hiring, using our in-house recruitment tech platform. Shortlist launched in 2015 in India and 2016 in Kenya, and to date, we have worked with 700+ companies, engaged with over 1,500,000+ professionals, and made 3,000+ placements.

We believe in the power of great teams to change the world, and have a significant focus on working with employers across the social impact and philanthropic sector, including dozens of leading social enterprises, NGOs, and foundations. This emerges from the founding team’s longstanding careers in social enterprise and impact investing, and is embodied in our founding and unwavering mission to “unlock professional potential.” We are also a values-driven culture, which you can read more about here, here and here.

We are growing quickly in India and across Africa, and we’re expanding our team of Talent Consultants and Talent Analysts, who drive the execution of executive searches across Africa and India.

What you’ll do:

As a Talent Analyst/Consultant, you will be responsible for understanding client requirements and identifying great candidates that match these requirements. You'll build positive relationships with existing clients and develop strategies to bring more business as well. You’ll engage with terrific professionals to gauge their interest in opportunities, evaluate their fit for roles, and keep them excited about the opportunities through the process. And you will gain global exposure to the Shortlist team and 700+ companies worldwide, learn the art and science of world-class client and project management, and solve critical business problems at the intersection of psychology and strategy.

End to End Talent Acquisition:

  • Develop a good understanding of client companies, their industry, what they do, their work culture and their environment.
  • Use active listening to understand clients' needs; elicit key client feedback and incorporate this information into ongoing job searches.
  • Research and support the team with unique sourcing channels and effective ways of targeting passive candidates.
  • Advertise roles by drafting and placing job descriptions in a range of media, such as job portals, social networking sites and industry-specific forums.
  • Select and present the most suitable candidates to the clients.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with senior stakeholders within client organizations in determining and anticipating their human capital requirements.
  • Manage a spectrum of clients and advise them through salary benchmarking and market mapping.
  • Support and manage daily deliverables in a fast-paced and time-bound environment.

Be an integral member of a fast-growing company:

  • Contribute to the culture and energy of the Shortlist team as we grow.
  • Listen, build on ideas constructively and motivate people towards common objectives.
  • Take note of lessons learnt to not only improve but also share with the rest of the organization.

Does this Sound Like You?

  • At least 2+ years of experience in a client-facing/client servicing/research/account management role.
  • Excellent communication, both writing and speaking.
  • Fluency in both English and French is a requirement.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, endlessly curious and ambitious.
  • Prior experience in recruitment or executive search is preferred, but not required.
