Summary of work environment

Java House runs on ICT systems from the front of house (MICROS EPOS) to Finance (SUN SYSTEMS), Commissary Stores/stock control system (MC), to Human resources management (SAGE) and Network Infrastructure on both LAN and WAN

Primary Purpose and Scope the Job (Job Role)- 

To install, configure, manage and repair I.T and communication infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Installation of servers

· Maintenance of backend databases and applications

· User support on it issues

· Management of local domain structure, users, rights and privileges

· Management of international domain, web site, email, DNS, global address book, internet proxy and anti-spam mechanism

· Configuration and maintenance of PABX and telephones and liaising with service providers on the same

· Enterprise antivirus installation and management

· Addition and configuration of access card to pos software

· Menu addition and changing on pos software

· Production of reports as called upon by I.T manger

· Commissioning and maintenance of web/ wan services

· Cleaning and maintenance of physical computer hardware

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Possess good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Demonstrate competency in any IT related support

· Possess good database management and administration skills

Key Result Areas/ Key Performance Indicators (5-6 areas) 

· Speed and Accuracy of work

· Configuration and maintenance of internet services and wide area network

· Configuration and maintenance of local area networks

Performance Indicators (3-5 indicators)

Production of documentation that is:

· Timely submission of accurate work

· 100% consistency expected across all databases and branches.

· 99% support for users on application programs expected.

· 100% data integrity, availability and security expected always.

Job specifications:

Qualifications & EXPERIENCE

· Must have a degree in Computer Science /Diploma in Information Technology/ Digital Electronics or Bachelors in Technology

· Computer certification like CCNA, MCSE, IMIS

· Possess knowledge in Open Source Software like Susse or Linux.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

· Ability to travel within short notice

· Valid Driving license

· Ability to work long hours
