Power Financial Wellness, Digital Marketing Intern

  • Internship length: Six (6) Months

Summary

Power is a platform dedicated to providing holistic financial services to working people in Kenya and across Sub Saharan Africa. We enable individuals to live their lives with dignity, reduce financial related stress, and take control over their financial well-being. Power enables gig and salaried workers to access to earned wages and other financial services, as well as to contribute to savings via partner banks.

We are looking for motivated and talented individuals to join our team. The goal of this internship is to fill gaps in B2B and B2C sales and better prepare you for a future career in business development.

As an intern, you will be working closely with a supervisor and other colleagues who will provide you with real hands-on projects and daily tasks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key Outputs

  • Social media plan and calendar
  • Weekly campaigns across LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram
  • Management of social media interactions
  • Campaign impact analysis and reports

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceive, develop and implement creative marketing strategies including implementation of an innovative social media plan and calendar.
  • Organize and manage marketing/PR campaigns (social media, press releases, etc.), exhibitions, and promotional events.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to evaluate trends, brand awareness and competition in order to develop insights to keep company marketing strategies up to date.
  • Create thought-provoking content to drive brand visibility through traditional and digital marketing channels including the use of SEO and other optimization tactics (Google AdWords, Facebook)
  • Manage daily media campaigns across media channels including LinkedIn Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and other relevant media channels.
  • Help to prepare online blog posts as well as promotional emails and work with the sales team to facilitate distribution.
  • Identify key thought leaders and social media influencers for Power to collaborate with to further scale brand awareness.
  • Measure performance of digital marketing efforts using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Web Trends, etc.) as well as prepare performance reports.
  • Collaborate with the sales, product and developer teams to improve user experience and engagement.
  • Manage and support all website content updates and improvements.
  • Help to identify tools to collate responses and customer engagement from all digital channels of communication including SMS, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, the website, or any other medium.
  • Provide support to customer queries originating through digital channels.
  • Participate in QA testing of the Power platform and suggest improvements.
  • Perform other related marketing duties and any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related degree; Second Class Honours
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing and social media content creation
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and other emerging social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools
  • Competence in writing innovative, thoughtful and unique content to be delivered across media platforms
  • Active social media presence with quick and professional responses to questions, comments as well as tweets
  • Knowledgeable in the most recent marketing trends to inform effective implementation of social media campaigns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Slack, Gmail, WhatsApp
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, i.e. have a laptop and a quiet space
  • Organizational skills and detail orientated
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili
  • Experience working with a team
