Job description

The Product Sales Intern is responsible for generating leads and qualifying prospects for the sales team. The intern will work closely with the sales team to learn the sales process and develop their own sales skills. In addition to sales-related responsibilities, the intern will also help with operational support including customer success and customer support. 


WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

Lead Qualification: 

  • Qualify demand (leads) against established criteria before passing them to Business Development Managers (BDMs) in designated regions. 
  • Achieve assigned Key Performance Metrics, including 50 outreaches per day and at least 20 Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) per month. 


Outbound Prospecting: 

  • Conduct outbound prospecting via cold calling, email campaigns, and social media. 
  • Uncover a prospect's business challenges and identify relevant new business opportunities.
  • Conduct high-level conversations with various personas at targeted accounts. 


Sales Activity Management: 

  • Manage, track, and report on all sales activities and results using Hubspot. 
  • Set appointments for the sales team. 


Collaboration with BDMs: 

  • Work closely with BDMs to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities for new business. 
  • Plans can include multi-channel communications utilizing email, LinkedIn, direct mail, cold calling, and various other channels to pique prospects’ interests and drive sales conversion. 


Operational Support: 

  • Travel to attend client meetings when requested or necessary in the assigned region. 
  • Provide operational support to customers, including troubleshooting issues and providing training.
  • Respond to customer questions and resolve complaints. 


Sales Process Development: 

  • Collaborate with the sales team to share best practices and make recommendations to close sales more effectively and ensure customer loyalty. 
  • Work effectively with BDMs to deliver the best solution for the client and ensure an excellent experience. 


WHO YOU ARE: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • A basic understanding of sales and marketing concepts is a plus. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. 


LOCATION 

● Hybrid (Reporting to regional office some days of the week ) 

● Mombasa - Kenya, Kampala- Uganda, Lagos - Nigeria Preferred
