Job Overview:

The Control room operator will be responsible for monitoring and controlling power generation units remotely from the control centre. The duties will include analysing operational data to maintain efficiency and optimal conditions. You will perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and equipment adjustments to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and repair equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable power generation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

a) Remote monitoring and controlling power generation units

• Monitor and control power generation units from a centralized control center, ensuring continuous operation and efficiency.
• Utilize data analysis to adjust settings and maintain optimal operating conditions, aiming for a 99% uptime to maximize plant efficiency.

b) Performing equipment maintenance activities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Promptly troubleshoot and repair equipment issues as they arise to minimize downtime and disruptions to power generation activities.

c) Safety and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations including use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.

d) Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and safety procedures to comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

e) Communication

• Communicate effectively to coordinate maintenance activities, resolve issues promptly, and maximize production output while minimizing equipment downtime.

• Continuously strive to develop your knowledge and skills further. 
• Engage proactively with colleagues in your team and cross-functionally to improve and enhance efficiency. 
• Perform any additional duties related to the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities that your supervisor may assign you.

 Key Skills and Competencies:

• Education level: A minimum of a diploma in electrical and electronic engineering
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot power generation equipment, interpret data for operational adjustments, and perform routine maintenance tasks effectively.
• Capability to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders, facilitating efficient plant operations and maintenance.
