Job Overview
As a Finance Assistant at Hydrobox Group, including Yetu Smart Grids, Magiro Hydroelectricity Limited and Hydrobox Infrastructures SEZ, the role primarily supports financial operations. Responsibilities include bookkeeping & data entry, financial documentation, and providing support to the finance team.
Duties & Responsibilities
1) Accounting & Book-keeping excellence
- Accurately recording of invoices, receipts, and payments into QuickBooks and ensuring categorization of expenses to the correct cost centers.
AP Management:
- Ensure invoices are accurate and tax compliant, and promptly recorded.
- Co-ordinate with the procurement team to obtain proper documentation.
- Fully reconciled supplier accounts.
AR Management:
- Timely and accurate invoicing.
- Follow-up for payment of open invoices as per the credit policy.
- Fully reconciled customer accounts.
2. Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of management reports:
- CAPEX Budget Vs Actuals
- Sales Budget Vs Actuals
- Updating the cashflows.
- Ensuring the books are current and accurate.
3. Financial Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, accurate accounting books, and compliance with the relevant tax laws.
- Proper filing and maintenance of financial records to be accessible on demand.
- Ensuring timely remittance of tax returns and payment thereof.
- Assist in annual financial audits.
4. Petty Cash Management
- Responsible for managing petty cash funds.
- Processing payments.
- Reconciliation and reporting.
- Ensuring adequate funds to support operations.
5. Stewardship and Control
- Enforce financial controls to ensure compliance with company principles, professionalism, quality expectations, and legal obligations.
6. Financial Excellence
- Staying up to date with current financial trends on best finance practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
- An accounting certification such as ACCA/CPA
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
